Dear Parents / Caregivers
The highlight so far this term was the School Production of Bugsy Malone. It was a wonderful performance involving in excess of 100 students and many staff. A show of this calibre involves enormous commitment from staff, students, parents and numerous people in the community who supplied equipment and time to ensure that the event was a success. I am most grateful to everyone involved and I am confident that many ‘talents’ were ‘developed’.

Friday 30 May |
FEAST DAY MASS 10.30am in the Auditorium All Welcome |
|
This is a very special occasion as we celebrate the Feast of the Visitation of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. To celebrate our first full year of Yrs 7 – 13 we will be unveiling and blessing the Icon of the ‘Mother and Child’ in the school chapel. Bishop Pat Dunn will be officiating at the Mass and blessing the Icon.
We are still accepting donations towards the Icon. These can be made at the school. A donation of $50 or more will secure your family name on a framed plaque that will be placed adjacent to the icon later in the year.

Special Character
As we lead into our Feast Day (Friday 30 May) we should start to Focus on the Visitation of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was pregnant with John the Baptist. This unselfish act by Mary who herself was pregnant with the Christ Child is an example of how we should put others first. There are many other messages for us in this Visitation story. For example “Mary set out and went with haste” showed that she put others before herself and that she ‘believed’, she ‘cared’ and she ‘acted’. Read Luke’s version (Chpt 1 vs 39 – 56) and you can unravel other examples.

Senior Exams |
Thursday 12 June – Wednesday 18 June
Students should be preparing for these now. They are reminded repeatedly that it is not practice that makes perfect it is ‘perfect practice that makes perfect’.

|
Homework Centre |
The school library is open from 3.30pm to 5.00pm on Mondays and Wednesdays for students to do homework and / or assignments. It is a quiet, pleasant environment for students to work in and senior students are available to assist. We would like to see parents encouraging their sons and / or daughters to take advantage of this. The library is open to 4.30pm on other days.
