Bake Sale Fundraising for LifePods

The College prefects ran a bake sale in the C Block courtyard, to raise funds for Sir Ray Avery’s incubator project.

Sir Ray Avery is a renowned New Zealand scientist who has invented an incubator for premature babies that only costs $2000 to make and maintain, compared to the $40,000, the average incubator costs. Together with several East Auckland Schools, we saw this as a wonderful initiative to support by fundraising within our individual schools and then putting the money together to contribute a significant amount to this worthwhile cause. The money will sponsor incubators that can save babies lives all over the world.

The bake sale was a grand success, with the delicious treats being snapped up quickly. Primarily, through the support of students and staff, we were able to raise around $300, with the chance to donate more, with upcoming events such as the Prefect vs Teacher Netball Game and Sausage Sizzle.
