Big win to Hockey girls

The Girls 1st XI put on a display of slick passing, speedy footwork and power shooting as they recorded a big win against Macleans College.

A big advantage in both territory and possession was soon reflected on the scoreboard as the girls grabbed the first of five goals scored in the opening half. Pressure was exerted by a number of penalty and short corners which kept the opposition defence busy and under pressure. The team dominated the mid-field and frequently sent their forwards racing towards goal with a number of precision passes. Only a fine goalkeeping display and narrow misses kept the half time score to single figures.

The second half saw two early goals scored by Sancta Maria College as they quickly reasserted the ascendancy established in the first half. Playing with energy and confidence the girls ran out convincing winners by 8-0.
