Our school celebrated Library Week, with fun activities for both students and staff. Each day, there was something different to get involved in, and there were prizes up for grabs too!
We started off the week by designing and creating our own bookmarks during lunchtime. It was a chance to get creative and make something personal to use when reading.
On another day, the library hosted a Mystery Book Challenge, where we had to guess the title of a book using only a series of clues. It was harder than it sounded, but also a fun way to test how well we knew different books.
Mid-week, we had a Library Scavenger Hunt, where teams raced around the library to complete challenges. There was also a “Guess Who – Teacher Edition” game running all week, where teachers hid behind books in photos, and we had to figure out who it was.
Later in the week, we played a Kahoot Quiz called Hibernate with a Book, which was a big hit. Everyone brought their devices and joined in for some book-themed trivia.
The week wrapped up with the big reveal of the “Guess Who” competition. Students crowded into the library to see which teachers were behind the books and to find out the prize winners.
Library Week was such a fun way to celebrate reading, test our knowledge, and spend time together. A big thank you to the library staff for organising everything, we’re already looking forward to next year!
