On Friday 15 May 2026, Sancta Maria College celebrated the annual Pink Shirt Day. The origins of Pink Shirt Day traces back to Canada when in 2007, two students wore pink to stand in solidarity with a student who was being bullied for a pink shirt. Since then, Pink Shirt Day has expanded around the world, including New Zealand, to help create a kinder, more inclusive community.

All proceeds from both the gold coin donation and the bake sale went towards the New Zealand Mental Health Foundation, an organisation dedicated to providing help to those who are going through tough times.
A massive thank you to all the students and staff who wore pink, baked, or donated toward this cause. Their contributions helped ensure that our school and wider community remain a supportive environment for everybody.
