On Thursday 10 April 2025 — a perfect, sunny day that marked an exciting occasion for our Year 7 and 8 students. With a mix of nerves and excitement, they set off to St Cuthbert’s College to represent our school in the annual Kids’ Lit Quiz. The competition brought together 75 schools from across Auckland.
The Kids’ Lit Quiz is also held around the world, challenging students with 100 questions across 10 rounds, each with its own theme. This year there was a very wide variety of topics ranging from William Shakespeare to modern shows such as Peppa Pig. Our teams, SMC 1 and SMC 2, each had four members who were passionate about reading and books. Along with them were our supportive librarians and students from the club, who helped encourage them during the day.
While our teams didn’t make it to the top three, we couldn’t be prouder of their effort and dedication. They represented us beautifully, showing resilience and determination throughout the day.
