Open Day showcases life at Sancta Maria College

Matthew Ye

On Wednesday 11 March 2026, our school held our annual Open Day to welcome aspiring students and their families into our school, giving them a taste of what life at Sancta Maria College is like. This is aimed toward our at feeder schools – the current Year 6 students and parents.

We held two sessions: one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, and both were filled with keen parents and tamariki alike.

Our award-winning jazz combo, Big Kahuna Burger, introduced guests with style, performing three incredible pieces: Caravan, Equinox and Herb Alpert as everyone entered the auditorium.

Our 2026 Head Prefects, Aaron Santoso and Maia Tay-Morrison, gave brief introductory remarks before handing it over to Deputy Principal Ms Lal and Principal Mr Mackenzie for a general presentation and talk.

They explained the aspects of our school: faith, co-curricular, academia and pastoral care, and how the information surrounding enrolment was distributed.

After this, our lovely senior students led guided tours around our campus, showcasing and explaining all the amazing facilities we have to offer.

2027 enrolments are now open until 29 May 2026, and information is available at https://www.sanctamaria.school.nz/how-to-enrol/.

All in all, it provided an awesome chance for interested parents and students alike to visit our campus and see for themselves the incredible opportunities we have to offer.
