On Tuesday, 16 and 23 June, the 11COM classes went on an exciting tour to the Tip Top Factory in Mount Wellington. This trip was part of our unit to demonstrate our understanding of price determination, and Tip Top ice cream was the topic our assessment was based on. Throughout the tour, students diligently took notes while our tour guide, Lisa, thoroughly explained how Tip Top ice cream is produced in the factory.
We got to see discontinued ice cream flavours and products as well as learning about the history of the Tip Top brand. We even got to discover the very first van that Tip Top ever produced ice cream from. Throughout the time we were there, students got to observe how ice cream is made in the factory by looking through enclosed viewing galleries. After we had taken a tour through the building, we finished by picking a delicious dessert from the chest freezer. While we enjoyed it, we had an opportunity to watch a short movie, providing more information on the history behind the Tip Top Factory.
Thank you to Ms Chen Dela-Cruz and Mr Joseph for arranging this trip and coming along with us. It was a super exciting and fun-filled trip!
