Gymnastics trio place highly at Nationals

Just recently a trio of amazing Rhythmic Gymnasts competed in the Gymsport New Zealand Rhythmic Gymnastics National Championships.

The trio, Anais Bebelman Year 7, Louisa Nelson Year 8 and Daniela Romero-Mittelstaedt Year 10, train together at the Gymsport and Recreation Centre in Takanini. They also represent Gymsport Auckland.

Anais competed in the Stage 4 International Grade and won a silver medal for her hoop routine, a bronze medal for her ball routine and bronze overall. Louisa also did very well, competing in the Level 7 category and winning a bronze medal for hoop and a bronze medal overall. Daniela took part in a grade 5 group and placed 3rd, also taking home a well deserved bronze medal.

Louisa and Anais also competed in a grade 5 group and did a sensational job. The girls who are only 12 and 13 years old were competing against 18-20 year olds from around New Zealand. They showed that age is but a number and ended up winning New Zealand Nationals, receiving a gold medal and a prestigious trophy named after legendary competitor, mentor and event organizer, Margaret Woolf, who has served on the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Sport Development Committee since 1985.

We would like to congratulate Anais, Louisa and Daniela on their superb efforts and achievements and it is definitely something to be hugely proud of.
