A Night in Venice

Abby Tay-Morrison (Year 13)

The Night of May 8th year 12 and 13 students had their annual ball held at Ellerslie Events Centre. The 2021 Ball Committee chose the theme to be a Night in Venice, which influenced the style of many students ball dresses and suits.

Throughout the evening students had the opportunity to have photos taken of them and their friends by the studio photographer or even in the photobooth. The dance floor was flooded with students and teachers bringing their best moves out.

After the dinner provided by Ellerslie Events Centre, the awards of the night were announced.

Best Single (year 12) – Kieran Hatting

Best Single (year 13) – Letisia Fifita

Cutest Couples (year 12) – Phynley and Ryan/Aaron and Patrick (besties)

Cutest Couples (year 13) – Georgia and Lance/Gina and Angelo

Prince (year 12) – Johann Guadalupe

Princess (year 12) – Leticia El-Boutty

King (year 13) – Josue Badenas

Queen (year 13) – Aerin Henry

Following the awards, a group of year 13 students performed the First Dance, choreographed by Sydney Causer and Abby Tay-Morrison. The performance started off with some ballroom, then some upbeat hip hop and finished with two spotlight moments from the choreographers and their partners.

Thank you to Mrs Holmes and Mrs Farmer for organising this spectacular night, and all those involved with the 2021 Ball. It definitely was a night to remember.
