Art trip opens students’ eyes and minds

On Thursday, two Year 10 Art classes took a trip to the Auckland Art Gallery. The gallery was filled with a variety of different types of art, allowing the students to explore a wide range of exhibits.

At the Auckland Art Gallery, there are many different areas showing many different ideas through art. These include Disco Very, Guerrilla Girls and Pacific Sisters. During this trip our students were led by the Gallery educators, who showed us how to interpret art.

The Year 10s discovered from this trip that there is much more meaning behind each artwork than you imagine and realised that art is not always what it seems.

Overall, this art trip was enjoyable and educational for the students. It was great to learn about the deeper meaning of art.
