The course develops students’ skills, control and confidence which are valuable in all their studies and in whatever careers they choose to follow. Students will study selected texts, devising performances and performing  both individually and with a group. Theatre trips will be organised throughout the year.

Students will be introduced to drama techniques, elements, conventions and processes. They will learn how to structure, record and perform devised drama, being able to review and evaluate performances.

Students will gain credits at NCEA Levels 1-3. This can lead to tertiary study in subjects such as theatre studies, drama education and performing arts.
