Every Dollar Counts

Sancta Maria College got involved and showed our support for St. Luke’s Catholic Community and their journey towards building a new place of worship.

For the past few years, St. Luke’s Catholic Community has been hard at work, planning and fundraising for a new church. And what better way to support our local parish than by wearing mufti and donating a gold coin. All the students as well as teachers enjoyed the warmth and comfort of their mufti clothes on Wednesday, also making sure to double the layers up due to the recent chilly Auckland mornings.

Though the mufti day was optional for students, it was awesome to know that a lot of students got behind such a worthy cause. All the money raised by the students and staff of the school goes towards the building of the new church as well as the furniture inside (such as the grand piano and altar).

Be sure to keep an eye on the notices, as many more fundraisers will be carried out by our school. By holding these fundraisers, we are not only serving our fellow brothers and sisters at St. Luke’s Catholic Community, but we are also fulfilling our service journeys as stewards of God’s word.
