Our young cricketers did extremely well on Saturday morning, despite being two players short. Bowling first the team fielded and bowled well restricting Kings to 96 runs after 20 overs.
Noel Chettiar with 2 wickets and Oscar Stewart with three were the pick of the bowlers. The other lads caught well and saved plenty of boundaries.
Chasing a target of 97 we had a shaky start, losing 4 quick wickets. After 10 overs we were behind the run rate at 30 for 4 and not looking good. However, Yohan Solanga Arachchige Don (32 not out) and Oscar Stewart (40 not out) had an awesome partnership and reached the victory target with 1.5 overs to spare.
All the boys contributed to the win, playing with good sportsmanship. We would love to be able to put out a full XI. Any boys interested in joining the team see Kieran in AU3.
