Makerspace – creativity unleashed

Thursday morning was our final Makerspace for the year, and so we made Christmas cards. This was very popular with lots of students joining us to create some beautiful Christmas cards.

Makerspace is held in the library and is a relaxed, creative environment available to all students before school on late start Thursdays. Most weeks we have seen 30+ students involve themselves in activities such as making wands, Mother’s Day cards, paper flowers, friendship bracelets and bangles, constructing models using LEGO Mindstorm, meccano, knex as well as having the freedom to pursue their own ideas. The students use a range of donated recyclables such as cans, cardboard tubes, wood, fabric, wool and card.
