Mufti Day for a Good Cause

Child sex slavery is a serious problem in some countries and although we cannot do much, we can contribute our little bit by supporting organisations that are a voice for these kids. Destiny Rescue is one such organisations working undercover towards freeing these young girls and boys from sex slavery.

Sancta Maria College got involved and showed our support by wearing mufti on Thursday, with each student giving a gold coin donation which will go towards funding the efforts of Destiny Rescue to help these young captives out of sex slavery. Their mission is to make contact with the children and put them into special schools which can help them recover emotionally.

This mufti day also coincides with the R.E. topic ‘Social Justice’, which is part of the Year 12 curriculum. The College Well-being committee also asked that students try to wear something white as part of their mufti, to show their opposition to domestic violence.
