Pipped at the post

Sancta Maria College was narrowly beaten in its attempt to defend the Pompallier Shield won last year from five time winners Sacred heart College. A highlight of the night was Henry Elliot winning the Maori Scripture reading top prize.
Cuan Pillay came third in the Senior Scripture section.

The Pompallier Shield is a scripture reading and oratory contest between secondary schools of the Catholic Diocese of Auckland.  Out of a strong field of fifteen schools, Sancta Maria College can feel very pleased with their overall second placing.
