Sancta Maria College offers 2 different programmes for our senior students to prepare them more practically for their life after high school. These come in the form of World of Work and Gateway. This week, the students involved in these programmes had a focus on Safety in Action.
They were provided with numerous insights, particularly in terms of their health and safety responsibilities. The students were excited about this topic as no matter which career they are aiming for, adding these credentials to their CV will make all the difference when entering the workforce.
Learning about Safety in Action meant our students were exposed to a variety of scenarios around workplace health and safety, as well as a theory component. It is a requirement that students are to be made aware of the health and safety requirements in the workplace and also to be kept safe on their work placements.
This was a very exciting and useful part of our World of Work and Gateway programmes.
