Friday 16 May 2025, a dazzling moonlit night noting the highlight of the senior year. The event most teenagers grow excited waiting for, dressing up, getting hair, makeup, lashes, and nails done for the night of the year. Hosted at Ellerslie Convention Centre was this year’s Sancta Maria College “City of Stars” Senior Ball. Accompanied by nightlong bass-boosted playlists curated by the DJ, flashing lights, and photo stations littered around the venue. Party buses, limousines, and the whole nine yards could be observed arriving from the attending students. Everyone came looking their finest, it was truly a night to remember.
The night began with the usual casualties and followed with the ‘First Dances’ performed by a number of Year 13 students. Once the beautiful performances had concluded, dinner then began. And soon after, another round of dancing, slow dancing – intended for couples or friends who wished to get up and connect. Along that, roaming photographers filtered through the crowd of rowdy teens to capture any moments left uncaptured by the photo stations.
Whilst all this fun and commotion built, all students were kindly asked to vote for candidates best suited to the night’s awards. Congratulations to the following students who won in their respective category:

This magical evening was the best atmosphere for bonding and socialising. Incredible new memories were made that night. An immense thank you to all who made this event come to life. To the Ball Committee who worked so hard behind the scenes, to Mrs Al-Rubaie and Mr Campbell who helped support and create the best night possible, and the event staff at Ellerslie Event Centre for helping everything run smoothly throughout the evening.
