“Turn away from sin and be faithful to the gospel”

The school community gathered together in faith to observe the beginning of the Lenten season yesterday by celebrating Ash Wednesday. It was yet another successful and eye-opening experience.

The ashes were blessed by our school chaplain, Fr. Kevin before the members of the 2019 Youth Ministry distributed them to both the students and staff of the school.

We were challenged and encouraged to use this year’s Lenten season to pray and ask for forgiveness before we celebrate Holy Week in 40 days. As a sign of sacrifice, we encourage everyone to plan on giving something up, whether it would be a bad habit, something we enjoy doing or something we love to eat. Or even better, we encourage maybe doing something a little bit extra, whether that would be going to our Wednesday Masses more often or giving up your time to add complete your service hours.
