Our Year 9 & 10 boys’ team competed at the Auckland Secondary School Softball Championships on Thursday, finishing 3rd. It was one of the few sunny days in recent weeks and the competition was hot straight away.
The boys played 3 pool games against One Tree Hill College (Lost 10-16), Northcote (Won 9-5) and Pukekohe Christian (Won 21-0). The results proved that the boys just needed a little more time together but they did enough to make the semi-final against one of Auckland’s best softball schools, Mt Albert Grammar.
Our team did as well as they could but were defeated 0-18 with MAGS winning the tournament without conceding a single run. We finished the day by defeating Henderson 14-3 to claim 3rd place. Thank you to Ms Judd and Ms Samaeli for coaching and mentoring the team this term and congratulations to the team for producing a brilliant result. Bring on Term 1 softball!
