A fourth win in as many games sees the Under 17 boys basketball team top their grade at this stage of the season. In their toughest game so far the boys came from behind to defeat Glendowie College 46-39.
A slow start saw the Sancta Maria College Under 17 basketball team fall behind in the first quarter. With the need to make up ground, a change in tactics saw the boys claw back the deficit. A much better all round defensive performance was the foundation for the team to draw level then take a lead they never relinquished.
Owen Tamayo was outstanding in defence, stopping Glendowie with his steals, blocks and rebounds. Ben Manuyag was also amazing with his all-in spirit giving the side a lift when it was most needed. It required a determined team effort to overcome such strong oppon
