In addition to December of last year’s Peer Support training, this year saw Year 11 and Year 12 Peer Support Student Leaders busily attending their after-school Peer Support training workshops in Week 2, 3 and 4.
At the training workshops we explore team work; group discussion; critical thinking and mentoring skills. We learned about our responsibilities as Peer Support leaders and possible activities we could start each session with. We also looked at our schedules to see when we will be having further meetings and got to see the dates we will meet with our Year 7 and Year 8 homerooms. We discuss and plan our Peer Support activities with our team members for the weekly Peer Support Year 7 and Year 8 Homeroom visits ahead.
We are motivated, excited and nervous, all at the same time. We look forward to the challenges. And we are keen to learn and to grow in our roles as Year 11 and Year 12 Peer Support Student Leaders. And we started visiting homerooms in Week 5.
