Year 11 leave South Eastern Careers Expo future-focused

Raynelle Ramos and Bonnie Bao

The Year 11s were privileged to travel to Howick Leisure Centre and take part in the Careers Expo on Wednesday 10 June. The day started by getting into their house groups and making their way onto the allocated buses. Students were assisted by Mrs. King, who arranged this event.

As students arrived at the Centre, each student was given the freedom to browse different stalls which offered a variety of courses for students to have an idea of what future they wish to pursue. Different organisations such as Auckland University, University of Queensland, University of Waikato, Ardmore, Air New Zealand, New Zealand Police, etc. Many stalls offered pamphlets and booklets about what courses they offered, while others hosted activities which students had the opportunity to interact with. There was multiple career choices offered, which gave students a chance to explore the diversity offered in New Zealand.

As the Expo ended for Sancta Maria College students, we were all very excited with what opportunities the Expo presented, and thankful for the opportunity to learn and discover a range of different career choices on subjects’ students were passionate about or wished to follow. A huge thank you to the careers department for organising this amazing opportunity for us.
