Year 13 Market Day showcases their excellence

Kayleigh Pieters

On the 2 August 2023, the Year 13 Business Studies students had their annual market day. The market day provided an opportunity for the business students to sell their products to customers. After three months of preparation and hard work, their products were finally ready for sale. The nine businesses include Pup Culture, Cutlerings, CookiePlus, Charmz, Spunkeys, Proteios, Plushease, Akutz and Mag Daddy.

Proteios is sustainable business group which sells high protein Rice Krispie bite sized snacks. As a business, they want to promote the idea of living a healthier and nutritional life as shown through their products. Their products contain a lot of carbohydrates, for quick energy, B vitamins, iron, and they are also low in fat and sodium. The added protein gives it extra boost, and includes many natural amino acids, which assists in recovery and muscle growth.

Charmz aims to remove germs and restore moisture with style! Their product is a travel-sized 2-in-1 hand sanitising moisturiser with customisable charms. With an attachable keychain, different scents, and a range of charms – there’s something for everyone!

Plushease is a business that aims to promote awareness around mental health through handmade crochet plushies. The plushies come with beneficial scents and are handmade by students. They aim to ease minds, one plush at a time.

MagDaddy is selling magnetic phone holders that work on iPhone 12 and up. They are also selling non-magnetic phone holders. They are all 3D printed.

Spun-key specialises in customisable spinning fidget keyrings that are both functional and stylish. They offer four distinct designs, ‘La Fleur’ (flower design), ‘Sumatra Karambit’ (karambit inspired model), ‘The Twosome’ (heart design), and ‘The OG’ (the classic base model). These keyrings are tailored to individual preferences, as they are fully customisable from colour choices to engravings. Spun-key is all about adding fun to your daily life and keeping your keys organised, while offering a stress relieving experience.

Cutlerings specialises in handcraft rings made from cutlery. All the rings are one of a kind, made with long lasting and durable materials. These rings come in multiple sizes and is therefore suited to all finger sizes. Cutlerings want to reuse items and to try help the environment in any way possible.

Pup Culture sells delicious dog treats, CookiePlus sells high protein cookies and Akutz aims to create clothing to showcase your very own innovation and creativity.

Overall, Year 13’s business market day was very successful, with a packed auditorium and many sales. The business students should be proud of what they have accomplished.
