Recently, 19 students attended the South Eastern Zone Swimming event held at the Lloyd Elsmore pools.
14 Year 7 & 8 students proudly represented Sancta Maria College by swimming at the one day event and 5 Year 11 students assisted Mrs Cummings in timekeeping the races and managing the younger students.
All of our swimmers made an incredible effort, particularly two swimmers who gained outstanding results: Trelise Dance, Year 8, claimed 3rd place in 50m freestyle and smashed the 50m breaststroke field, claiming 1st place.
Quintin Wong, Year 7, also performed exceptionally well, not only placing 2nd in 50m breaststroke but also dominating the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke, ranking 1st in all three.
These two swimmers will represent SMC as well at the South Eastern Zone at Auckland Interzone Swimming Championships on April 5. We wish these two swimmers the best of luck.
