Year 9 and 10 Swimming Sports

Raynelle Ramos and Jacob Fischer

On Monday 10 March 2025, Year 9 and 10 students were granted a privilege to go out and enjoy a day of swimming. Although swimming may not be everyone’s thing, it was a day filled with both the competitive and social/fun races. Turnouts for each race were impressive with students stepping up to even just have a go. All events were split into our age groups, Year 9 girls being brave and starting off the day, followed by Year 9 boys, Year 10 girls, and finally, Year 10 boys. One of the most anticipated events was the homeroom and house relays, ending the day with an unexpected prefect’s vs staff relay.

Throughout the freestyle, backstroke & breaststroke events, we saw some frequent faces taking the lead but not without some new ones surprising us all! Cheering was heard throughout the day boosting morale and team spirit on top of an already stunning sunny day.

Thank you to the Sports Department for all their hard work organising this day out for us, and for all staff who came along to watch and support us. The Year 9’s and 10’s really enjoyed this experience, and we hope that other years will enjoy it too.
