Young Vinnies strengthen bonds

The North Island Vinnies Youth Camp for 2017 kicked off on March 25. Leaders of the 13 schools that make up the North Island Vinnies Youth attended this camp in order to know more about each other and to strengthen their bonds as a family.

After all, the Vinnies group is one big family, one that is generous, welcoming, loving and kind. During this camp, students from each of the 13 schools were separated and put into teams, so that they could bond and build relationships with new people.

Together, they supported and motivated each other through team building activities, high ropes and learnt about the founders of St. Vincent De Paul.

Students also took part in tuning in, where they sang songs of praise to honour who the St.Vincent De Paul truly work for: God.

In the words of Maia Speechlay, one of our College leaders,

‘I liked the many opportunities we had for reflection, praise and worship because it helped us all to bring ourselves back and centre ourselves again. We were able to reflect on the purpose for the camp and our goals for the year.’
