After a term of hard work and practice, last Thursday night at the Uxbridge Theatre saw Year 11 drama students perform on stage a play directed by Mr Roberson, their drama teacher. Everything went smoothly and it was a great experience for the students to perform in front of a big audience.
The production was about when the Springboks came to New Zealand to play rugby in 1981, their refusal to select any black South Africans to play causing anti-apartheid protests to take place. The characters portrayed the typical drama teenagers go through as they grow up.
One of the performers, Isabel Misic, says. “It was nice to show what my whole class had been working on because everyone worked so hard on it. Overall, it was a great experience and I would love to do it again.”
Each student’s hard work and dedication to this production really paid off.
