A pen that will last forever, a portable swing and microwaveable wheat-bag slippers are just some of the creations on display and for sale in the auditorium, 5.30-9.30, this evening (Tuesday).

A growing sport within our school, Year 9 and 10 have just finished a 6 week after school programme of skills and games coached by Robbie from Auckland Badminton Association and supported by our own A grade players Clive Luna, Roanne Apalosik, Alistair Lee, Henry Hoh and Calvin Pang.

At the beginning of the term we welcomed a small group of 20 senior high students and two staff from Itoshima High School for a three afternoon class exchange with Year 9, 10 and senior Japanese language students.

Yes, the College Music Concert is on this Friday evening, 7pm in the auditorium. Featuring the concert orchestra, concert band, jazz band and choir there will be something for everyone. At only $5 for adults and $2 for children it is not to be missed. Come along and give your ears a treat.

Four students from the Year 13 Hard Technology (Engineering) class, Ito Magbag, Philip Garcia, Gabby Mendoza and Sage Fernandez, entered their project into a one-day expo at the Vodafone Centre, called TIAKI – guardians of the environment, guardians of Aoeteora. The TIAKI ‘Sink or Swim’ programme aims to engage secondary school students of South Auckland in developing innovative ideas that will sustain, maintain and develop the NZ environment.

The entire school put on their winter woolies for the cold day ahead on “Warm day”. This was to top off a successful Enviro week but to also kick of the “Switch it Off!” Campaign.

Monday, 8 August was the third and final day of our participation in the Stand Up Stand Out Competition heats (but we will be seeing our vocal group, Helta Scelta, perform in the Final on Friday, the 26 August, at the Vodafone Arena).
