Ranging from plates for your laces, to plants and bubble tea, Sancta Maria College was a busy venue as the College hosted the Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) Night Market in the Auditorium. There were over 50 business groups from more than 20 different schools that participated in this event. Beginning at 5pm and finishing at 7pm, there were many products on sale to the local community.

Sancta Maria College’s premier netball team played very well on day 3 and day 4 of the UNISS tournament, recording two wins, a draw and a loss. Wednesday saw the girls playing Waihi in the morning, winning 27-18. The team showed excellent attacking and defending with a focus on safe passes and controlling the ball.

The sun was shining as the team began their festival on Monday. It felt like a beautiful summer’s day and the boys were excited. It was the first tournament for a lot of the team and they gained much from the experience. The opposition included Macleans, Rosehill, Orewa, Aorere and Tangaroa Colleges. We started slowly
Friday was Warm Mufti Day. We have been monitoring and recording the amount of electricity used at school. Our heaters and lights were turned off for the day to conserve power. The amount of electricity saved compared to a normal school day will be calculated.
