Twenty-one musicians from our Primo Orchestra, Light Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra were able to be part of the APO ‘Play in the South’, at the Vodafone Events Centre on 19 August. Many of these students have only started an instrument this year and found this a real challenge.

The Year 7 and 8 students enjoyed the performance by the Revolution Tour. They spread their message to us through dance, singing and comedic life experiences. Their message was about bullying and how to deal with it. Revolution stands up for the people who can’t stand up for themselves.

Joseph told us about “Why you should not friend your mum on Facebook’. Teenagers use a lot of social media and his audience definitely related to his humourous delivery of this topic.

An annual event our music ensembles look forward to every year is when St Mary’s and Holy Trinity hosts the annual KBB Festival which showcases each school’s talent in music. Sancta Maria College’s Chamber Orchestra, Big Band and Concert Band were lucky enough to take part in this event.
