Accounting is one of the subject options offered by our Commerce department. This course aims to produce financially literate individuals who can produce and analyse financial data and use it to assist in making informed decisions.

Accounting is a discipline which measures, records, reports and interprets financial and non-financial information about an entity to interested parties, to enable them to make appropriate economic decisions.

Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of accounting concepts, process financial transactions, prepare and interpret financial information and make financial decisions for an individual or a group.

Accounting is offered at NCEA Levels 1-3 and leads to Commerce related tertiary courses.
