Congratulations to all the top speech finalists in Year 8. After a round of presenting speeches in homerooms, the top student from each class was selected to present their speech at the school finals. The first-place winner of the speech category was Cyprus Causer with her persuasive speech on our responsibility to protect the environment and the first place winner of the spoken word category was Emily Poole with her topic of ‘Why people should stop telling people to smile more’.

The categories ranged from rap, flash talk, speech and spoken word. There were a variety of topics from ‘Why we should not have homework” to “Anime” and every student did a fabulous job!
