Early start for Year 13 Retreat

An early start for Year 13 students at Eastern Beach for the start of their very last retreat at Sancta Maria College.

The retreat was held at Willow Park Christian centre and run by Ms. Fouhy, Mr. Piggin and many other staff members who lead the students for their activities.

The day started off very early at 7am on Eastern Beach to celebrate Mass with Father Kevin as the sun rose. Shortly after, the Year 13 students moved on to buffet breakfast followed by activities consisting of Meditation, Vocation, and Validation. They also started to put together their gift for the school, a beautiful mosaic. The morning also included an Attitude talk presented by Alenzo.

The day continued with more of the students’ activities then a talk from Father Douglas telling the Year 13 students about his experiences in Iraq and the many struggles he and other Catholics are going through as they live through the current war in that country.

Shortly after we had a delicious lunch and finished off our activities. The day then ended with a few words from Ms. Fouhy, Mrs. Heffernan and Mr. Rogers as they gave key advice for us students followed by prayer.

We would like thank Ms. Fouhy, Mr. Piggin, Mrs. Heffernan, Fr Kevin, Mrs. Oliver and all the staff involved for making it an unforgettable experience for all of the Year 13 students.
