Fundraising for the 40 Hour Famine

WHAT A SUCCESS!!! Our 40 Hour Famine day was a huge success with various activities being staged, ranging from the facilitation of the mufti-day collection; the setting up; the colourful face painting; the delicious bake sale; the brave souls on the receiving end of pie-throwing; the funky jazz music; the vibrant and vivacious singing performances and electrifying rap.

We thank you from the bottom of our 40 Hour Famine Committee hearts for all the time and effort that everybody put into making it the success that it was. We were able to collectively raise $1476.50, which is an outstanding outcome to such a joyous day.

Also, the job of fasting or giving up something important to you for 40 hours was completed. Over and done with. Finished. The participants of the 40 Hour Famine were able to endure their long hours of pain and sacrifice, whether it be no eating, no talking and even the one weekend, one backpack challenge. Now it is time to collect the donations that they have been asking for so that they are able to help the Syrian refugees who are not able to help themselves.

All of this, however, would not have been possible without the wonderful Sancta Maria College Staff, who have been supporting the students involved in the 40 Hour Famine and for all the students who signed up. I can’t wait to see what next year holds. It is such an incredible opportunity to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
