Great win on the weekend vs Auckland Grammar

Superb batting from Jayden Corriera with 51 not out from 40 balls and Johnathan Aviet with 50 not out from 66 balls set us up for a massive total of 184 for 1. Hayden Waters helped the cause at the end of the innings with 19 quick runs.

The team knew the job was only half finished as they had to bowl well to back up the batting. The whole team responded well. With wickets to Luke McEnteer and Oscar Stewart, solid catching from Arav Andre and Yohan Solange combined with tight bowling from Rory Quiding the opposition struggled to keep up with the required run rate. The bowlers were supported by run saving fielding in the deep from Laurence Stewart as well as sharp work close in from Ronan Prakesh and David Ibrahim. The team effort restricted Grammar to 146 for 3, giving SMC a winning margin of 38 runs.

Great effort again from all the boys – well done.

Looking for 3 in a row next week vs McLeans College.
