It’s ‘Cho’time at Uxbridge

The Big Band, conducted by the talented Mr Cho performed Route 66, Count Bubba’s Revenge and Groove Merchant, with our featured soloists Adrian Vargas, Peter Brzozowski, and Helen Pahulu, who also did an amazing job on vocals.

Yes, it was another astonishing performance from the music students at the Uxbridge Centre in Howick.

A highlight of the performance was Samantha Bottom’s ensemble, Minju Kim (cello), Orla Edwards (piano), and Samantha Bottom (violin) playing Samantha’s composition ‘En Trois’. Chamber group ‘Accordia’ featured Kelly Qi (soprano), Caroline Barbafiera (violin), Orla Edwards (viola), Minju Kim (cello) and Chong Bin Wee (piano). Their lyrical playing was greeted with much applause from the audience.

As for the Chamber Orchestra, they were the last of the groups to perform, conducted by our Head of Music, Mr Gibbs. They performed beautiful arrangements such as Barcarolle, Where’er You Walk, Voi Che Sapete, and Dance of the Swans, featuring vocalists Anna Nguyen and Kelly Qi.

Everyone performed with great confidence, and will be taking that confidence with them as they perform at the KBB Music Festival in Term 3.
