Last wicket partnership earns team victory

We ended up second equal in our pool of 6 so were into the 5th/6th placed playoff game matched up against the third placed team from the other pool. Our aim was to restrict Glendowie to 120 or less and we carried that out by bowling them out for 109. Jayden Corriera grabbed 4 wickets and was the standout bowler, well supported by all the SMC fielders.

We were quietly confident of being able to chase down the total but we consistently lost wickets during the innings. A few of our batsmen got starts but then got out and we were still 26 runs short with the last pair at the crease. Johnathan Aviet and David Ibrihim rose to the challenge and got us home with some power hitting, putting on an amazing last wicket partnership to get the win.

This term we played 6 games for 4 wins and were undefeated at our home ground. It was a fantastic season to see all the players develop and produce some great results.

A big thank you to the parents who helped and supported us during the term.
