Open afternoon draws the crowds

While SMC students were pouring out of the gates to get home, many parents and prospective students came to tour Sancta Maria College and take an application pack for a chance to attend our school.

With the help of eager student volunteers, groups of parents and Year 6s toured the school campus, visiting everywhere from the olive grove to the language classes. Freshly made pancakes, games, a photobooth and robots made the open classrooms interactive and fun for our guests, who are sure to have enjoyed themselves.

The tours gave families an insight to what is offered at Sancta Maria College – showing a broad range of sports, languages, our religious education programme and much, much more.

After the tours, parents and children were taken back to the school’s auditorium to listen to the College principal, Ms Moore, talk about the academic success of Sancta Maria College, and the school’s special character which is enhanced by retreats, Masses and morning prayer.

Overall, the 2019 open day was a huge success for the school, having had so many application forms taken and families interested to attend. We are excited for all the new students who will join us next year – and, for many, this short introduction was just the beginning of their College life.
