Percecilia La Madrid (Year 10)
On Friday the 16th, last day of term one, the house leaders held a tug of war competition in the gym during lunch for a fun event to end the term off on a good note.
The first rounds started off with Akaroa vs Waitemata with Akaroa taking the win. Then it was Kororareka vs Hokianga. Hokianga with its overwhelming amount of people became a deciding factor for their win. In the finals we had Hokianga vs Akaroa. Hokianga, had almost double the amount of members compared to Akaroa and ultimately took the victory. Having 2 wins Hokianga won 1st place and with 1 win Akaroa coming second.
“We had a decent turn out; a lot of senior involvement which is a big step up from previous years. Was great to see a large turn out. Can definitely see the growth in house spirit within the school.” – Tom Simpson.
We hope for many more fun events like these from our house prefects!
