Friday was an opportunity for the Year 9s artistic and sporting talents to come to the fore. With the Year 10s at camp and the Year 7 and 8 classes taking part in the Stella Maris Shield it was an opportunity to take the Year 9s off timetable.
Wednesday had seen the Year 9s delving into Shakespeare through his play ‘The Taming of the Shrew’, and Thursday they had explored two of our volcanic cones, walking from Mt Eden, through Cornwall Park to One Tree Hill.
And Friday saw them spend periods 1 to 3 showing their creative side. In small groups they made three dimensional models, with the theme of environmental sustainability. This was followed by two periods of activity, either side of lunch, as they enjoyed ball games in the gym and tag rugby on the field.
