On May 20, our Wellbeing prefects, Greer Sullivan and Raliemon Lopez announced wellbeing week was to spread awareness and raise funds for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand and Breast Cancer, with several activities planned throughout the week.
We packed this week with fun events like pie in the face and even had pink shirt day paired with our annual cross-country race.
The first event of the week started off with pie in the face at lunchtime, where students would pay a gold coin to pie a prefect (of their choice) in the face.
The auditorium came alight for our next event which was ‘Shave for a Cure’, which saw students and staff volunteer to shave their hair (or severely trim) off to raise money.
On Thursday, Our Year 7 and 8’s met in the auditorium for an individual health activity, writing about their thoughts and taking time to self-reflect.
On Friday, the school paired up both Pink Shirt Day and our annual Cross-Country Race! Pink Shirt Day is a special day for students as they were encouraged to wear pink clothing in support of Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand (MHFNZ). Pairing it up with our whole school Cross-Country race made it a really great event and a fitting way to end Wellbeing week.
Thank you to all the staff and students who organised and made this week special.
