It’s Cool to Korero Te Reo Maori

“Ko te manu e kai ana I te miro nona te ngahere. Ko te manu e kai ana I te matauranga nona te ao.” The bird that consumes the miro berry owns the forest. The bird that consumes knowledge owns the world.

It’s Maori Language Week and one of the goals is to use a little bit of Maori all the time. Let us see if we can learn a whakatauki (proverb) every day.

The theme for 2018 is: ‘Kia Kaha te Reo Māori’ – ‘Let’s make the Māori language strong’.
