The entire school community gathered in prayer to celebrate the College’s first Mass of 2018.

Developing a school ‘Haka’ and ensuring all students feel part of the Sancta Maria College family are the goals our head prefects Martina Kleis and Dominic Stolten have set themselves for 2018.

At homeroom time on Thursday and Friday our Young Vinnies will be coming round the classrooms to collect donations of gold coins, cans of meat/fish and other canned food.

Ex-students of Sancta Maria College Niel Kulkarni, Meggue Cruz, Gabby Mendoza, Lynn Mascarenhas and Martina Buzak came to share their experience of their first year at a tertiary institution (University of Auckland and AUT) with levels 2 and 3 Biology students.

The school year has officially started, kicked off by the school’s yearly tradition of welcoming new staff and students with a powerful and warm powhiri by the Kapa Haka.

Summer is here and the Year 7 and 8 students are making the most of the outdoors, enjoying the new part of the confidence course which was recently completed. It couldn’t have come at a better time with the wonderful weather we are having.

This year the focus of the talk was ‘friendships’. Our speaker and representative of Attitude.org, Alenzo, spoke about his experiences and the consequences of his decisions.

On Saturday the ICAS medal presentation ceremony was held at Auckland University.

It was a fun day out for students studying French when they got to try out the sport of pétanque.

The Year 8 French classes put on a breakfast treat for themselves and invited guests.
