2016 was the second year of the New Zealand Schools Japanese Trivia Championships competition. This joint initiative between NZAJLT (New Zealand Association of Japanese Language Teachers) and JSANZ (Japanese Studies Aotearoa New Zealand) attracted 87 teams from seven regions (Auckland, Waikato, Manawatu, Wellington, Nelson, Otago and Southland).
