Our Year 10 students returned to school on Friday after being away for four days at the Catholic youth camp in Ngaruawahia. Students got to participate in many exciting and challenging activities, including, kayaking, bushcraft, raft building, amazing race, orienteering, and retreat.

Yesterday it was the Volunteers’ Christmas luncheon at Totara Hospice. Sophia Bebelman and Logan Fenton presented each volunteer with the special package prepared by 11CLE students. The lunch menu included the famous Kiwi ham and turkey, followed by pavlova.

Our Sancta Maria College Family Mass is being celebrated next Wednesday, December 5 at 6.30pm in the College Auditorium. The celebrant will be our College chaplain, Father Kevin Murphy S.M. Mrs Caudy invited former student of Sancta Maria College (now first responder paramedic), Tyler Andrews, to teach the Sound Crew advanced first-aid. This included what to do if a person is unresponsive, has an athsma attack, if a diabtetic’s blood sugar is too high or too low, and how to perform CPR.

With excitement in the air, the enthusiastic students couldn’t wait to participate. The competitions ran simultaneously in different rooms. We enjoyed lunch with some parents who came to support their children. The day concluded with liturgy and prizegiving.
