Yesterday lunch time staff and students were treated to an amazing performance from our premier jazz combo.

Travelling from the busy streets of Auckland to the quiet roads of the Bay of Islands, the Level 3 History students were ready to go on a new and exciting adventure.

This week has been very busy for our sports teams. It is at the play off stage for some codes and close to the play offs for others, while badminton is just getting under way. Let’s find out how some of our teams got on.

A Whakatauki, also known as an important Maori proverb, says “Nau te rourou, naku te rourou, ka ora te manuhiri.” – This means with your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive. This proverb was the theme of the Year 12 Retreat for 2018 and it set the scene for an incredibly moving and peaceful day.

At the start of this week Sancta Maria College welcomed 32 students and 4 teachers from our sister school in Shanghai; the Shanghai Jincei Experimental Middle School. Students from our sister school, have visited in the past with this visit being their fourth time at Sancta Maria College.

On Wednesday, a lucky group of Year 12s and 13s went to MIT in Manukau for a Nursing Day Experience.

On July 31 our two Year 11 art classes, along with Mrs Simmons and Miss Turner, made their way to the Wallace Arts Centre in Hillsborough to be immersed in the beauty of art and architecture.

It was a busy day at the heats held at the Point Chevalier R.S.A. where the Auckland Jazz & Blues Club hosted The Auckland Jazz Competition last weekend.

Year 12 and 13 students interested in nursing were lucky enough to visit MIT Manukau at their new campus. It was a very enjoyable and interactive day and included activities such as disection, CPR, patient assessment and taking blood pressure.
