Library Week 2022

Johann Ang (Year 12)

In the words of Ernest Hemmingway, “There is no friend as loyal as a book.”

Library Week was held from 1 – 5 August 2022. It was an opportunity for students to explore their love of books and share this passion with others. During intervals on Monday through to Thursday, a Harry Potter Kahoot was held in the library. The winning team played against the Teachers during lunchtime on Thursday – the students were the victors this year!!

The content of the quizzes was based off the Hogwarts houses – Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, with bookmarks being given out every day! The final quiz was an ‘experts’ Harry Potter quiz that everyone found extremely difficult!

In addition, during lunches, Year 7-10 teams participated in a Treasure Hunt Challenge in the Library’s Quiet Room. Using clues and a treasure map, teams competed against each other to be the first to discover where the treasure was buried. There was “real” gold and silver coin bags (chocolate coins) for the winning team, and lollipops and bookmarks for all the participants.

Endless thanks to the Librarians Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Toth, and Mrs. Telfer for all their hard work! Other thanks to the teachers who participated in the quiz (Mrs. Sullivan, Ms. Whiteford, and Mr. Rimamate) and congratulations to all the students who won!
