Playing the lead role of Troy Bolton is Elijah Rata. “Before I got the lead, I had background in music. I learnt and played piano for two years, but later decided to move on. The teacher basically taught us songs we would like to learn. By picking a familiar song, we had to sing and perform it in a crowd at the end of the year annual recital to raise money for charity.

This Friday we have a school disco in the auditorium for our Year 7-10 students. Funds raised will be used in support of next week’s Junior Production of High School Musical.

This Saturday marked the second weekend of the season at Howick Pakuranga netball courts (HPNC). A lot of Sancta Maria College teams deferred their game and will play later on this coming week, due to the time of the game clashing with preparations for the school ball. The school team that stood out this weekend was SMC College 9, winning against Sunnyhills C6 14-10.

The fog didn’t dampen the netballers’ enthusiasm to play netball on Saturday morning. This was their second game of the netball season and the teams had much improved results today with 5 wins and two losses. Although for some teams the game was challenging, they had improved and developed new netball skills.

The Year 8s are learning about narratives this term, so it was a great inspiration for our English skills as well as a boost for our creative minds.
